What's a "Pick of the Week" ?

Wednesday, May 14, 2014

Oh, hello! What's new?

We're now doing a little thing called a "Pick of the Week".

What's a "Pick of the Week?" you may ask.

Well, a Pick of the Week is our new - and very exciting - weekly equipment special where we take a popular, top- of-the-range piece of catering equipment and offer it for CHEAP AS CHIPS for one week only.

How do you take advantage of this? Have a think about the equipment that you may need in the future then sign up to our Newsletter. We will send you an email at the start of the week containing our Pick of the Week. Then keep your eye out for the equipment you need.

These equipment prices will be unbeatable so we can't keep these specials going for long. All orders will need to be made within the time noted in the email.

If you're not keen on signing up to a weekly email (though we would totally recommend it), you can regularly visit our blog.

To sign up to our Newsletter, just enter your name and email address into the form at the bottom of our home page. Easy as pie!

Cut your power costs - Show your fridges some love!

Monday, April 14, 2014
Your commercial refrigerator is one of the biggest power consumers in your kitchen.
It is recommended that you give your fridge and its condenser coil a clean at least once
every three months, but a more regular clean inside and out can also help your fridge run more efficiently, thus reducing power consumption.

Cleaning your condenser coil is a very quickand easy task. It only needs a quick brush or vacuum to remove the build up of dust and lint. If you are unsure about the procedure, there are videos on our website, YouTube, and on the skope.co.nz website, or you can even talk to one of us.

We’re told that if everyone knew just how much money can be saved by giving your fridge and condenser coil a regular clean, people would do it on a weekly basis!

A big thanks to Peter from Skope Refigeration for the top tip.

Road Trip - Free Freight Tips

Tuesday, March 18, 2014

Another full week on the road, last week. We've been to... Canberra, West Wyalong, Tarcutta, Yass, Holbrook, Griffith...

Holbrook is probably the friendliest town in New South Wales. Everyone was very welcoming.

Once we get outside of the bigger towns and off the highway, we hear a lot about the cost of freight. Many business owners in the smaller towns in our region say that due to the need to cover shipping costs for their supplies, they're finding it hard to keep their prices down.

"How do I reduce my freight costs?"

Did you know that, with a little bit of research and pre planning, you can reduce or eliminate a lot of your freight expenses? It's true. Talk to your suppliers.

Do any of your suppliers have reps that visit your area on a regular basis? Organise what you need from the company and ask if their rep can deliver. In most cases, they're more than happy to.

Do any of your suppliers offer discount or free shipping for bulk purchases? Take advantage of that whenever you can.

Friends or family live near any of your suppliers? Call the company to organise and pack your order then have your friend/family member bring it to you when they visit (You might want to cook a little something for them as a thank you.)

Research companies that offer free or discounted delivery. It's not always the big guys either, sometimes even little companies can offer you big freight savings.

Be good to your local carrier. He or she is a world full freight cost saving knowledge.

Is your business in the Riverina? Chances are that our rep, Tim visits your area.

If you have any great freight tips - let us know!

Road Trip - Week 1

Monday, March 10, 2014

It was a very busy week on the road last week.

We've been to Young, Grenfell, Cootamundra, Narrandera, Junee, Tumut, Gundagai, Cowra, Leeton, Tumbarumba, Albury, and places in between.  We've met a lot of friendly folk as well as caught up with some of our favourite regulars. We've had a some good chats about equipment, supplies, and the world of hospitality. Tim managed to lock himself out of his car in Albury and Sarah got into a sing-a-long with a couple of elderly gentlemen in the main street of Cootamundra. So far so good.

360° Road Trip

Tuesday, February 25, 2014

Buckle up! It's time for a road trip!
Adrian, Paul, Robert, Sarah, and Tim will be spending March and April out and about, doing a tour of all the towns and cities within a 300km radius of Wagga Wagga.
They'll be dropping in to cafes, restaurants, pubs, clubs, butchers, bakers... you name it!
Why?
They want to know what they can do to make your business run smoother.
Tell them what you need. Is it kitchenware? equipment? advice? staff training?
Have you tried ordering through our new online store?
They can even create an online account for you - right there and then, so next time you need to make an order - it's all ready to go!

Need them to bring anything along? Call 1300 138 100 or email sarah@waggacatering.com.au

We'll post regular updates and photos of their adventures, so keep an eye on our blog.

See you soon!
